This shoot was directed by Andrew Gash. He was fantastic technically, but I felt a bit intimidated and as if there was only 'one right answer' when he put us on the spot. I did get a lot out of it, because it pushed me to actually make sure that I understood everything technically and could do it again myself. Now that I can, I look back and feel silly for being so intimidated, and not putting in as much input as I would now. All a learning experience, and it has really given me a good method (technically) to work with in my fashion portfolio, I feel a lot more technically competent.
I love all the lighting setups each group produced however with our group I much prefer the shot I cropped below, with the 'flaw' that the structure on the bottom left hand side is distracting. I personally would not have centered the model or included the flag in the bottom middle of the frame as in the first shot, but every photographer has their own style, and this is Gash's. I love the lighting and the fact that the silver dress goes so well with the silver bridge. The wind worked really well with the nature of the dress, and the posing is perfect because it doesn't 'obstruct' the view of the dress as the most important feature of the photograph. Out of all the shots produced my favourite was Jeremy's - the shot of Sophie 'jumping'. I think everyone worked really well and produced great images, and Gash was very generous in giving us a full practical day of shooting and sharing all his rich knowledge.
